Lori Matsourani has a Ghostly Romance for You
Please welcome paranormal romance author Lori Matsourani. She has a great ghost story for you.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Iโm a coastal person at heart. Currently, I live an hour away from the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, but I grew up in Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay and two hours away from the Atlantic Ocean. When stress threatens to take over my sanity, I stop and imagine myself at the beachโlounging in the sand under a clear blue sky and endless horizon; wiggling my toes in the encroaching surf; inhaling the scent of sunscreen mingled with snack shack French fries on the boardwalk; and listening to the background drone of the waves accompanied by the squawks of seagulls and pelicans. Itโs this laid-back feeling that I try to inject into my stories.
What event or experience in your life affected you as a writer?
One day, when I was the editor of a technical magazine for a trade association, a coworker told me she was writing a novel. That sheโd mastered the discipline required to work on a manuscript inspired me to pursue my own dream of writing a book. We became writing partners, and our shared journey from draft to publication took several years, but both of us are now proud authors of published novels.
Why did you become a romance writer?
I love, love, love reading romance. As a teen, Iโd hide away in the local library and devour romance novels. My first was Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers.
What inspired the idea for this book?
Marylandโs coastal vibe inspired Ghosted. Iโve always loved ghost stories and haunted hotels, and the idea of combining the two in a romance set in a small-town bed-and-breakfast on Marylandโs Eastern Shore took hold of me and led me straight to this story.
Can you tell us about any other upcoming books, series, or writing plans?
Iโm working on a second book in the Worthington Cove series: an enemy-to-lovers romance with a ghostly twist.

Ghosted is all about trust and how we sometimes need to just close our eyes, leap out of our safety zone, and trust that our soulmate is there to catch us. The forlorn spirit of Samuel, an 18th-century plantation owner, reaches out to Bethany, a love-wary guest in his house (now a B&B), for help in figuring out what happened between him and the love of his life, and if murder was involved.
Samuelโs ghostly intrusion leads Bethany to team up, reluctantly, with Nickโthe first boy she ever loved and the first one to break her heartโand help Samuel with his quest. The project forces Bethany and Nick to work closely together and revives the bond they shared years ago. As the investigation continues, sparks from their long-ago romance start to flare. Nickโs still the funny, caring person who captured Bethanyโs heart as a teen, and seeing him again makes her skin tingle and heart pound.
Yet the idea of reigniting the flame is terrifying. It can lead to joyโฆ or heartbreak, and itโs hard for Bethany to trust that the opportunity for happiness is worth the risk of despair. In the end, Bethany and Nickโs mission encompasses more than discovering Samuelโs truthโit helps all of them, ghost included, make peace with the past and determine a new path forward.
About Lori Matsourani

I authored my first fiction story when I was twelve and have been hooked on writing ever since. Early on, my writing career focused on articles for magazines and newspapers before shifting to my first writing loveโfiction. For me, connecting words to tell a story is like assembling a jigsaw puzzle, and I love the challenge of creating every piece.
