WW2 Time Travel Romance by Jana Richards
Romance author Jana Richards is here today to share her WW2 Time Travel romances.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’ve been writing seriously for over thirty years. This year, 2026, marks my 20th year as a published writer. Since I retired as a bookkeeper about four years ago, writing has become my full-time occupation. But my most important roles are as a wife, mother, and grandmother to my beautiful granddaughter.
What event or experience in your life affected you as a writer?
I’ve always been a reader, but I didn’t read romance novels until I was in my thirties. We were away camping somewhere, and I ran out of reading material. The only books available to me were romance novels, so I picked one up. And I was immediately hooked. The book was suspenseful and emotional, and dealt with real-life problems. I’ve been reading and writing romance ever since.
Why did you become a romance writer?
The short answer is that after reading numerous romance novels, I felt I could write one, too. Turns out it’s way harder than the really good writers make it look. The longer answer as to why I write romance is that I love the message of romance novels. They tell us that love is possible, even when we face obstacles. And we’re always better people for having loved.
What inspired the idea for this book?
I’ll Be Seeing You is a time-travel romance that is partly set in Plymouth, England, during World War 2 in the weeks before the D-Day invasion. I’ve always been fascinated by World War 2 stories because my father was a veteran. People of that time endured so much and had so many stories to tell. I want to honor them by bringing their stories to life.
Can you tell us about any other upcoming books, series, or writing plans?
My time travel romance series, Twice in a Lifetime, released recently. Here’s the series blurb: After Gabriel Daniels’ car accident, he finds himself in a waiting room next door to Heaven. To earn his angel wings and be allowed the privilege of looking out for his loved ones back on Earth, Gabriel is tasked with giving three mortals their second chance at love. What Gabriel doesn’t count on is having to examine his own life during this process. Coming to terms with his mistakes, especially his mistakes in love, is the biggest test of his afterlife.
BOOK 1: I’ll Be Seeing You When apprentice angel Gabriel takes Frank back in time for a second chance at love, they both learn lessons about trust.
BOOK 2: Never Can Say Goodbye Can accepting what can’t be changed give Gabriel’s new client a second chance at love?
BOOK 3: When I Was Your Man Taking his client back in time for a second chance at love may have unintended consequences for apprentice angel Gabriel.

Apprentice angel Gabriel Daniel’s first assignment in his quest to become a full-fledged angel is to give WW2 veteran Frank Brennan a second chance at love. With help from his mentor, senior angel Thomas, Gabriel takes Frank back to Plymouth, England, in 1944. There, Frank made his biggest mistake with love. His first time in 1944, Frank fell in love with Claire Cartwright, but when he found her kissing another man, he ended their relationship, despite Claire’s insistence that things weren’t as they appeared. This time around, Gabriel’s task is to convince Frank to trust in Claire’s love and fidelity, despite the evidence against her. At the same time, Thomas takes Gabriel on a journey through his relationship with Sloane, the love of his mortal life. For the first time, Gabriel sees how his jealousy and distrust tainted their love. Unless Gabriel persuades Frank to trust Claire, his goal of becoming a citizen of Heaven is doomed, along with his desire to watch over his mother and brother back on Earth. Frank has a complicated history that Gabriel must help him confront before either of them gets what they need.

Jana Richards has tried her hand at many writing projects over the years, from magazine articles and short stories to full-length contemporary romance, paranormal suspense, and romantic comedy. She loves to create characters with a sense of humor, but also a serious side. She believes there’s nothing more interesting than peeling back the layers of a character to see what makes them tick. When not writing up a storm or dealing with dust bunnies, Jana can be found pursuing hobbies such as golf (which she plays very badly) or reading (which she does much better). Jana lives in Western Canada with her husband, Warren, and a senior cat named Layla. You can reach her through her website at http://www.janarichards.com
