Take a Trip with Carol Henry’s Romances
Welcome Carol,
What event or experience in your life affected you as a writer?
My love of writing started when I was a young girl who fell in love with reading. Belonging to a book club of various genre growing up, then frequenting the library to get my hands on the latest Nancy Drew, Dana Girls, and Trixie Belden. Later, I discovered Agatha Christy, and while working at Cornell University’s Olin Library, I frequented the Crime Club Selection. Later, my sister introduced me to romance novels, and I fell in love with reading them, as well.
Why did you become a romance writer?
As I said earlier, my love for reading romance, and being a writer, finally convinced me I could write a love story. Having married my high school sweetheart, and traveling the world with him, it just made sense that I should give it a try. Thankfully, I had lots of support from him and my family, so I gave it a go, and delved right in. Winning numerous awards has help me keep coming up with new material to share.
What inspired the idea for this book?
In writing my Connection Series, and having recently traveled to Norway and visiting the Arctic, I was enthralled with the area, the people, and the culture. Picturing a romantic suspense adventure along the coastline was a no-brainer. The wilderness of it all, and the landscape was the perfect setting. And adding in all my own adventure was a plus.
Can you tell us about any other upcoming books, series, or writing plans?
The next, and sixth book in my Connection series will be Paris Connection. And I’m sure I’ll have another Christmas novel close at hand.

When marine biologist Brianna Murphy goes to Norway on assignment to determine the cause of the decline in fish, she discovers her uncleโs fishery is under suspicion in a black-market ring. Working with an international team of specialists, she goes solo with the teamโs climatologist, Conner Holt, and they become the target of several suspicious accidents. Thankfully, Conner has her back. Or does he? Conner feels responsible for the accidents they encounter, but heโs not sure he trusts Brianna to be objective since her family is under suspicion. Their investigation heats up as do their interactions. Neither is looking for a long-term relationship. But will they make that Arctic connection when they finally reach the North Cape?

Meet Carol Henry

As historian for my town, I wrote many articles on the history, people, and current events for local papers. Deciding to improve my writing skills, I enrolled in writing classes while working at Cornell University, and attended writer conferences. I co-founded the Write Now writersโ group, which I still run today.
After my husband and I retired, we became world travelers. Wanting to share my travel experiences, I began writing travel features for the local papers, and then branched out to write for major cruise linesโ deluxe in-cabin books, and several well-known travel magazines. I was an avid reader growing up, but didnโt discover the romance genre until Iโd been married for several years and my sisters shared their love of romance novels with me. But my decision to write a romance novel happened while I was in the middle of reading a romance novelโI thoughtโgee, I can write a romance, too.
It didnโt happen overnight, but it did happen. Perseverance, encouragement from family and writer friends paid off. Although the first book I wrote wasnโt the first to be published, Nothing Short of a Miracle became a #1 Best Seller on Amazon for 21 days in a row. I am still a freelance writer, as well as an author of light romantic suspense adventures (Indiana Jones meets Romancing the Stone) for my international travels Connection Series. I also write American historical, holiday, family, and contemporary light romance novels. All novels are available as ebook and print.
