Heather E. Andrews Writes Rock Star Romance
Welcome Heather,
We can’t wait to hear about you and your new rock star romance.
What are some of your favorite things?
Coffee and mugs. Iโm a mug nut; books and mugs are in every corner of the house. I enjoy collecting books I read as a child. Iโve been looking for Beverley Cleary first editions of Romona Quimby books lately. Just holding them in my hands brings back wonderful memories of growing up. My favorite TV shows are Seinfeld and Bobโs Burgers. Iโve watched the movie Aliens more times than I can count, though Iโve been obsessively watching The Martian latelyโmaybe I should venture back into sci-fi?
How did you choose the genre you write in?
I never considered writing anything other than romance. At twelve, I found a pile of old Harlequin novels in my auntโs closet. I began reading, and that was all she wrote. They suited my pre-teen melodramatic personality perfectly.
In 2009 I was obsessed with the Syfy channel, watching Battlestar Galactica and Stargate. I grew up with Star Trek the Next Generation. So, I initially began writing sci-fi romance. I still have a great love for it. But in 2010 I stopped writing until I became obsessed with the band Breaking Benjamin. I imagined being front and center at a concert and what it would be like to fall in love with a rock star. I began reading rockstar romance novels on Amazon KU, and one thing led to another โฆ and the Bold Melodies series was born.
Do you ever experience writerโs block?
Writers talk a lot about writerโs block, butโand donโt think Iโm nutsโI donโt believe it exists. Thereโs always something we can write if something isnโt flowing. Rarely do words flow through the mind of any writerโif they do, then itโs fleeting. Sometimes dragging out words is like trying to claw a piece of pepperoni from a pug. Itโs why I always have more than one project going. Iโm currently working on the fourth book in my Bold Melodies series, a series of blogs on romance tropes, and a nonfiction project on creativity in recovery. If not those, Iโm journaling. Socrates said, โThe unexamined life is not worth living,โ and I wholeheartedly subscribe to this philosophy.
Can you tell us about any other upcoming books, series, or writing plans?
Iโm currently working on Soulful Melody: Bold Melodies Book 4 (preorder available now: https://a.co/d/fRQKPbQ). Former Clarke CEO, Ellis Clarke, has to find a new way of living when he has a big health scare. Walking into Sadie Moreauโs yoga studio, he finds more than he bargained for. Itโs a later-in-life, second chance at love romance. Next will be Sweet Melody: Bold Melodies Book 5. Eccentric drummer meets single-mother chef on a reality TV baking competition.
Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
My stories are 75% imagination based. I heavily research locations and how to do some things, but I have zero experience with rock stars. Though I love rock concerts. I admittedly spend a good portion of time watching music videos on YouTube, fantasizing about being in a rock band. Or writing poetry to the music in my head. The real-life experiences I have that I bring to my books mostly revolve around humor and random pop-culture references.

He shattered my heart. Can his song heal my soul?
Warren, the brooding creative engine behind the metal band Warpath, and Amelia, Clarke Recordsโ fierce CEO, reignite a forbidden passion as they battle past scars and a predatory contract to save his band and their love.
Warren, the brooding, near-silent force behind Warpath, will do anything to keep his bandโand his foster brother Clayโtogether, even if it means facing down a predatory record label. Raised in the perils of foster care, Warrenโs past has forged him into a man who dominates without speaking, haunted by rejection and a decade-old wound inflicted by the one person he canโt forget: Amelia Clarke. Now, he must beg her for help, baring the soft underbelly heโs hidden since the day he walked away from her.
Amelia, the stilettos-and-steel CEO of Clarke Records, rules her empire with a vixenโs charm and a bossโs bite, chasing her fatherโs elusive approval. But when Warren barges into her office, the rambunctious girl he abandoned resurfaces, her walls cracking under the weight of old sparks and new desire.
She agrees to help Warpath get free from their contractโif War bares his soul for a documentary. As they tangle in a dance of dominance and submission, from boardrooms to shadowy clubs, their past unravels: foster care scars, a broken heart, and a fatherโs control that tore them apart ten years ago. Passion ignites, but love? Thatโs forbiddenโby contract and by fear. Can two broken melodies harmonize, or will their shattered pasts silence them forever?
